Did you know that babies’ skin barrier is not yet that strong?

In infancy, the permeability of the skin barrier and vulnerability are particularly high. A greater sensitivity to UV light persists for a much longer period.

Where does this come from?

The skin cells in babies are smaller and the outer layer of skin, the stratum corneum, is thinner than in adults.

This means that the structure of baby skin is more permeable to substances that it comes into contact with. This is one more reason why it is best to care for your baby's sensitive skin without ingredients that could potentially trigger allergies. These include fragrances, preservatives and even wool wax.

Our laundry care tip:

Detergents, for example from Sonett. Organic detergents are the better choice: unlike conventional detergents, they do not contain phosphates, microplastics or genetically modified enzymes. This is not only good for your children and your skin, but also good for the environment.
